Former Army Ranger Alejandro Villanueva Defies NFL Team, Stands During National Anthem

On Sunday the entire Pittsburgh Steelers team disrespected America and it’s flag by staying in the tunnel while the national anthem was being played. One player, Alejandro Villanueva, a US Army Captain, Army Ranger, and Bronze Star Recipient, refused to stay in the locker room for the national anthem.

Villanueva knows that freedom isn’t free, that men and women have given their lives for the American flag and he proudly stood for the national anthem while the rest of his team ‘protested’ the flag.

President Trump took to Twitter on Sunday to blast the NFL players and owners participating in disrespecting the flag. The President tweeted, ‘Courageous Patriots have fought and died for our great American Flag — we MUST honor and respect it! MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!’

Villanueva is the man with real courage, going against the grain and proudly standing during the national anthem:
