According to reports President Trump has decided to pull the United States out of the Paris climate accord. Reportedly, a letter sent to Trump by 22 of the top GOP Senators pushed him over the edge to affirming his campaign promise of pull the United States out of the Paris agreement.
If the United States stays in the agreement it will hamper economic growth and require unnecessary cuts in emissions that will devastate the US economy long term.
A key part of the GOP Senator letter to Trump read, “Because of existing provisions within the Clean Air Act and others embedded in the Paris Agreement, remaining in it would subject the United States to significant litigation risk that could upend your Administration’s ability to fulfill its goal of rescinding the Clean Power Plan. Accordingly, we strongly encourage you to make a clean break from the Paris Agreement.”
This morning Trump signaled that he will reveal his decision on the Paris accord over the next few days.
I will be announcing my decision on the Paris Accord over the next few days. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

President Trump has made his decision to withdraw from the Paris climate accord, according to two sources with direct knowledge of the decision. Details on how the withdrawal will be executed are being worked out by a small team including EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt. They’re deciding on whether to initiate a full, formal withdrawal — which could take 3 years — or exit the underlying United Nations climate change treaty, which would be faster but more extreme.
